GOD WORKS IN TIME Galatians 4:4-7 God works in time and he was working to bring everything that needed to be done before Jesus came to this earth. (two words in the Bible that are related to time—Chronos and Kairos) God worked in time to send His Son, Jesus. - God was moving everything toward the arrival of the promised Messiah. ....God was working through the prophets. ....God was working through the people. ....God was working through the powers. - “In the fullness of time”— “completion” ....The enemy loves to deceive people into thinking God is not at work. ....We must overcome the issue of “perceived delay”. (think about the 400 years of silence—intertestamental period) 2 Peter 3:8-9 - We must overcome the issue of “personal distraction”. (we can become busy with our personal life and our personal agenda that we miss what God is doing) God is working in time to share His Son, Jesus. - God is continuing the story of the Promised Messiah through His people today. - To join God in His work we must “understand the times”. 1 Chronicles 12:32 - To join God in His work we must “reclaim the time”. ....exchange personal time for purposeful time. (Proverbs 3:5-6 “in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct our path”) ....eliminate being busy for being a blessing. (Acts 10:38 “Jesus…went about doing good”) ....exchange the noise of distraction for the voice of direction. (John 10:27 Jesus said, “my sheep hear my voice") Next Step: - Seek to prioritize your time this week toward God.
