Goodness of God HE IS PROVIDING A FAMILY John 1:9-13 God is good—He is a Perfect Father He loves us with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3 Father’s love: - is unconditional (Romans 5:8 and Ephesians 1:4) - is constant and never changing (1 John 4:8) - is great and unknowable (Ephesians 2:4; 3:18-19) He provides us with everything we need. Matthew 6:25-34 Father’s provision: - comes from infinite knowledge (v. 32) - includes “all things” (v. 33) He protects us by His power and security. Romans 8:38-39 Father’s protection: - is greater than any created thing (v. 39) God is good—He gives us one-another In His family we are not alone. - Ephesians 2:19 tells us we are members of “God’s household.” - We have a family that Father gives so we can walk through life together. In His family we are supporting and supplying what others need. - 1 Corinthians 12 speaks to the family of God as “the body.” - v. 24: God builds the body as he desires. - v. 25: God says no one part is more important than another. God says there should be no division. - v. 26: God says that if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it. God says that if one part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it. We need to help one-another: - connect in community and relationship. - grow to become more like Jesus. - go and serve locally and globally. Next Step: - Are you part of the family of God?
