Connect With God
• Series: Connect Grow Go
CONNECT WITH GOD John 3:1-8 We exist to make disciples who connect, grow, and go. There is much confusion and deception, about what it means to have a relationship with God. - We need to know who Jesus really is and why He came. (John 3:1-2) - People know deep inside there is a need, and religion has been the attempt to connect with God. Jesus removes the confusion and deception, by clearly stating the necessity of being receptive to the work of the Spirit in salvation. - We need to know and accept that Jesus made clear that the way to relationship with God is narrow and exclusive. (John 3:3) - No one will experience the kingdom of God without being born again. - Jesus is describing and emphasizing a work of the Spirit of God. (John 3:5) - Jesus is clearly saying that there must be a Spiritual birth in every person that comes "From Above". (Isaiah 44:3-5, Ezekiel 37:9-14) Next Steps There are two things that everyone of us must consider this morning: 1. Our personal relationship with God - Are you certain you have been “born from above?” 2. Our responsibility to help others enter into this relationship - It is not our “job” to save people. - It is our privilege to introduce people to the Savior, and let the Spirit do His work.
