Experiencing Worship: Commissioned Worship 1 Corinthians 6:20 Galatians 2:19-21 Matthew 28:16-20 “We must never rest till everything inside us worships God.” - A.W. Tozer What does it mean for something to be commissioned? - When something is ordered to be done or made in exchange for payment. We were bought with a great price. “Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20. For you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 If we have been bought and paid for by Him, Paul rightly says that: “You are not your own" (V. 19) For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I life by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and give himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, the Christ died for nothing. Galatians 2:19-21 If our salvation comes from Christ, then our lives are to be lived for Christ What are the things that we live our lives for? What are we teaching our kids to live for? What would our friends or coworkers say we live for? 2. We were brought for a great work. 16. The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20 How will we be able to do this? Matthew 28:18-20 His power and presence in our lives is what enables us to do what He has called us to! - When we become true worshippers, we don’t miss the mission. - Don’t be the one who accepts the price, but misses the mission.
