We know that they didn’t place faith in their brother until after his resurrection. Acts 1:12-14 Not only did they place faith in Jesus, but became leaders and missionary in the early Church. 1 Corinthians 9:5 Messianic Jews: culturally Jewish but view Jesus as Lord Jude 1-2 - Jude, a servant of Christ. To those who are the called - What does “the called” mean? 4 Parts of our “Calling”: We are called BY God We are called FOR a Purpose We are called FROM Darkness We are called TO Light Called by God: - He has chosen us to be in relationship with Him. Called for a Purpose: - God has chosen us so that we may proclaim His praises. Called From Darkness - God has called us to bring us away from the sinfulness and darkness of this world. Called To Light - God has called us to walk in His ways and in His kingdom as beloved sons and daughters. Loved by God the Father - If we are called by the Father, by nature we are then loved by Him as well! And kept for Jesus Christ. - There is debate between biblical scholars if this should be “for” or “by” May mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you. - This blessing is true for us because what was said prior is true for us.
