A Weary World Rejoices THE PROMISE OF HIS PRESENCE Matthew 1:18-23, - Isaiah 7:14 God has promised His presence with us! There is nothing that we experience in life without Him. God kept His promise and came to us when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. John 1:14 - We are able to know the nature and character of God. - Immanuel means “God (is) with us!” God takes the promise to a higher level when He reveals that He will be in us. John 14:15-17 - The Spirit of Christ lives in us and will be with us forever. - God with us becomes “GOD IN US” In a weary world of trouble, difficulty, and distress GOD IS IN US! - He is our Counselor (John 14:16) - He is our Teacher (John 14:26) - He is our Peace (John 14:27) - He is our Guide (John 16:13) - He is our Encourager (John 16:33) - He is our Overcomer (John 16:33) There is a beautiful spiritual reality that happens when we become children of God: John 14:20 - Jesus is one with the Father (in Him) - We are one with Jesus (in Him) - He is one with us (in us) - When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior we become a child of God John 1:12 - We are in Christ as a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) - Christ is in us as our hope of Glory (Colossians 1:27) LET THIS SPIRITUAL REALITY SINK DEEP WITHIN OUR SOULS - God cannot fail us. - If He somehow did fail us it would mean He had failed Himself and that is an impossibility. 2 Timothy 2:13 Next Steps: - What is keeping you from trusting that God will take care of you? - God cannot fail you! - He is not only with you, He is in you!
