SERVING THE CHURCH 1 Peter 4:7-11 One of our five stones -Empowering Purpose- is so important that we learn to live for something bigger than ourselves. - Connect - with God and others. - Grow - to be more like Jesus. - Go - in service locally and globally. If we say we are becoming like Jesus we must serve—Jesus came to serve and give his life! (Mark 10:45) 1 Peter 4:7-11 - Keeping fervent in our love for one another helps us keep faithfully serving one another. (someone has said “you can serve and not love, but you cannot love and not serve.”) Galatians 6:9-10 1 Peter 4:10 We serve because God has gifted us to serve. We serve because we are stewards of God’s multifaceted grace. We will give an account to God as to what we have done with what we have been given. (you have been given much more than just a “spiritual gift or gifts”) You are unique in your S.H.A.P.E. - Spiritual Gifts - Heart - Abilities - Personality - Experiences 1 Peter 4:11 God is giving us the opportunity to speak for Him.
