 • Series: No King

Worship, Wickedness, & War No King - Sermon Series Judges 17 & 18 Bible Project Judges Overview: https://youtu.be/kOYy8iCfIJ4 “in those days there was no king in Israel and everyone did what seemed right to them.” Judges 17: 1-6 (all 6 verses) - A complete absence of godly sorrow. Judges 17:2 - Self-centered in our sorrow about our sin. - This is a BIG DIFFERENCE from godly sorrow! 2 Corinthians 7:10 - What is the difference between godly sorrow and worldly sorrow? - Worldly sorrow is a sorrow that has the absence of God in the equation. Godly sorrow has God as the main focus of the reason for your grief. Psalm 51:4 When is the last time you were truly broken over your sin? - A blurred concept of God. - This is what happens when we abandon the true ways of God and decide to do “whatever seems right to us.” Judges 17:7-13 Church attendance & Belief in God are at their lowest point in history! Judges 17:12-13 I serve the one true God! I serve His Word! I serve His ways! I serve His truth! Judges 18:1-6 Everything goes wrong when you stop trusting God. Exodus 20:17 Because our world no longer believes coveting is a sin! Covet – to yearn for something with great desire or passion. Judges 18:7-10 Judges 18:24a “You took the gods I had made and the priest, and went away. What do I have left?” Micah served gods that could be taken away but WE serve a God who carries us! Next Steps: Ask myself these questions… 1. Am living for anything or anyone but the ONE TRUE GOD, Jesus Christ! 2. Do I have godly sorrow when I sin? 3. Do I have a true, Biblical concept of who God is, what His Word is, and what His truths are?
